Thereâs this weird idea that once you become an adult, youâre supposed to suddenly stop liking âkidsâ stuff.â
As if the moment you pay a bill, your brain automatically deletes:
- Saturday morning cartoons
- Disney Channel bangers
- Basil Brush chaos
- old CBBC idents
- comfort sitcoms
- animated films that STILL make you emotional for no reason
But honestly?
A lot of us never stopped loving them. And thank GOD we didnât.
Because sometimes adulthood is exhausting, and nothing heals the soul faster than hearing:
âBoom Boom!â
or the first few seconds of a 00s theme tune.
And letâs be real â some âkidsâ showsâ were genuinely iconic.
We all watched:
- Tracy Beaker
- Hannah Montana
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- random educational shows that accidentally shaped our personalities
- cartoons with jokes aimed VERY clearly at the parents
Plus, nostalgia is comforting. Familiar shows can feel safe, calming, funny, and emotionally grounding â especially when life gets overwhelming.
Growing up doesnât mean abandoning joy.
It just means now you can watch your comfort shows while eating snacks YOU paid for. đ
Honestly, adulthood is just:
âI deserve financial independence and a rewatch of my childhood favourites.â
And I support that completely. đ
