Asten Does Nostalgia

Where nostalgia meets chaos, and Daisy won’t shut up about it

ADVERTS THAT POSSESSED BRITISH PARENTS FOR 20 YEARS 📺🇬🇧

You could be having a perfectly normal conversation and suddenly someone’s mum would hear ONE trigger word and immediately transform into an ITV advert break from 2004.

Examples include:

🩷 “Diarrhoea…”
Every parent within a 5 mile radius:
“🎶 nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach… DIARRHOEA! 🎶”

🚗 Someone mentions a chipped windscreen:
“AUTOGLASS REPAIR… AUTOGLASS REPLACE.”

🐶 Any mention of bad breath:
“DOG BREATH.”
(collective national trauma)

📞 Someone says “call now”:
“0800 DOUBLE O…”
You already know the rest.

🥛 Craving chocolate milkshake?
Too late. The Crusha rabbit has entered your consciousness.

Honestly British TV adverts between 1998–2008 weren’t even selling products. They were installing sleeper agents into our parents’ brains.

And somehow…
we’ve all inherited it. 💀
