I just rediscovered a song I was OBSESSED with back in my YouTube days…
and I need to talk about it 😭

It’s called The Balloon Song by Manzini.
Yes. Really. 🎈

No, you haven’t heard of it.
No, it’s not on Spotify.
Yes, I was listening to it like it was a chart-topping hit.

This was peak headphones era:
Headphones on.
Volume up.
Replay button working overtime.
Just me in my own little world like it was the most important song ever created.

And the thing is…
I found it again today and it sounds exactly how I remember it.

Not worse.
Not cringe.
Not “what was I thinking??”

Nope. Still iconic. Still a banger. Still me.

And it made me realise something:

There was a whole era of the internet where we all had
that one random song
that no one else knew…
that lived on YouTube…
that never made it to Spotify…
but meant EVERYTHING to us.

Like:
• You never properly learned the lyrics but still sang along
• The video was probably chaotic or low quality
• No one in real life understood why you loved it
• You played it so much it basically became your personality
• And then one day… you just forgot about it

Until YEARS later when your brain goes:
“hey… remember this??” 💀

And suddenly you’re right back there.

Same feeling.
Same vibe.
Same little version of you who just needed a song and some headphones.

Honestly?
I kinda love that it’s not on Spotify.

It feels like a little time capsule.
Like something that stayed exactly where it belonged.

Just waiting for me to come back to it 🎈✨
