Hi, I’m Asten 👋
Asten Does Nostalgia (ADN) is my cosy little corner of the internet for pop culture, memories, and the things that quietly (or loudly) shaped me.
I write about growing up in the 90s and 00s — the music, the TV shows, the magazines, the ads, the random obsessions, the pop acts that deserved better — and how all of that still lives with us now. Some posts are funny, some are soft, some are slightly feral about boybands, but all of them come from a place of warmth and honesty.
I’m autistic, and nostalgia has always been a kind of regulation and comfort for me. This space isn’t about being stuck in the past — it’s about understanding it, reclaiming it, and letting it coexist happily with adult life, love, growth, and real life as it actually is.
Alongside the nostalgia, I also write about real life — relationships, anxiety, disability, joy, burnout, weddings, and the in-between bits that don’t always make it onto curated feeds.
You’ll find:
- 90s/00s pop culture deep dives
- Daisy Says posts (sparkly, sassy, reassuring)
- Gentle reflections and comfort notes
- Strong opinions about pop injustice (Avenue, I’m looking at you)
- Proof that liking “childish” things as an adult is actually very cool
ADN is not polished lifestyle content. It’s real, nostalgic, joyful, occasionally chaotic, and deeply mine.
If something here makes you laugh, feel seen, or think “oh my god, same” — then it’s doing exactly what it’s meant to do.
Welcome 💖
