You know when you’d finish a Disney film…
and instead of just ending like a normal movie…
something else came on?
Yeah. That.
For me, it was the Muppets shorts at the end of certain VHS tapes.
Now look — I liked The Muppets.
In theory.
But there was something about those clips that felt… off.
Maybe it was:
- the sudden switch in tone
- the slightly chaotic energy
- or just the fact I wasn’t expecting it
One minute I’m emotionally recovering from a Disney film…
the next it’s like I’ve accidentally changed channel into something unhinged 😭
And as a kid, that feeling of:
👉 “this isn’t what I signed up for”
👉 “why is this still going”
was WEIRDLY unsettling.
Like not full-on scary…
but definitely enough to make you sit there like 👁️👄👁️
And the worst part?
You couldn’t skip it.
You couldn’t click off.
You were just… trapped in it.
Honestly, looking back?
It probably wasn’t that deep.
But at the time?
Absolutely part of my personal Fear Files.
