You know when you were a kid and just… decided you didn’t like something, despite having absolutely no real evidence??
Yeah. That 😭
For some reason, I had a very strong, very committed list of Disney films that I simply refused to watch. No trial run, no “maybe I’ll give it a go” — just a firm no ❤️ and that was that.
Here are the main offenders:
🦌 Bambi
I didn’t need to see it. I didn’t need spoilers. I just knew something devastating was going to happen.
The vibes were sad. The deer looked emotional. That was enough for me 🥲
🐘 Dumbo
Again… emotional damage pending.
Even as a kid I could sense this was not going to be a “fun little watch.”
So I simply removed myself from the situation 💅
🎼 Fantasia
Now THIS one…
Too weird.
Too confusing.
Slightly unsettling in a way I couldn’t explain.
I probably watched about 30 seconds and went:
nope. absolutely not.
And I will never forget this interaction:
My mum: “why won’t you watch it, it’s just music”
Me: you do not understand
Because I didn’t understand either — I just knew it wasn’t for me 😭
Looking back, childhood me really had a system:
✨ avoid sadness
✨ avoid confusion
✨ protect your peace at all costs
No questions asked. No second chances given.
And the funniest part is…
I was out here watching The Little Mermaid on repeat like that wasn’t emotional in its own way?? Make it make sense 😂
Honestly, I kind of respect the commitment.
If something felt off, I trusted my gut immediately and stuck to it for YEARS.
Childhood logic was undefeated.
Tell me I’m not the only one who did this…
What films did YOU randomly refuse to watch as a kid?? 👀
