I will die on this hill at 5:20am with no breakfast yet:
the Bratz TV show was ahead of its time.
This wasn’t just a cartoon — it was:
- fashion montages every five minutes
- pop-coded soundtracks that went unnecessarily hard
- friendship drama that felt serious at the time
- confidence, attitude, and main-character energy
The girls were creative, ambitious, supportive of each other, and unapologetically stylish. It said “be bold, be loud, be yourself” long before that was normal in kids’ TV — especially for girls.
And honestly?
If it came out today it would be:
- clipped to death on TikTok
- called “iconic” unironically
- praised for its aesthetics and girlhood
Instead, it was written off as “too much”.
But too much is kind of the point.
Justice for Bratz — the dolls and the TV show 💄✨
Tell me you didn’t secretly love it.
