👻 ADN Fear Files: Revisited

There are some fears you grow out of.

And then there are the ones that simply… go quiet.

Waiting. Lurking. Ready to be remembered at 3am for no reason.

Welcome back to ADN Fear Files — because apparently our nervous systems were doing side quests from a very young age.

Things that scared us WAY more than they had any right to:

TV adverts that came on too loud Especially when you were half-asleep and convinced this was how the world ended. “Next time…” trailers Why was the music always threatening?? Why was the voice whispering like that?? Websites loading slowly Is it frozen? Is it broken? Have I ruined the family computer forever? Unexpected key changes in songs You’re vibing. You’re safe. Suddenly: MODULATION. Heart rate = elevated. School assemblies No context. No warning. Sitting cross-legged knowing something emotional or awkward was coming. Mannequins Don’t look at me like that. Why do you have a personality. TV idents Some of them were supposed to be friendly. None of them were. Being called downstairs “for a minute” A minute?? For WHAT. Pop-up windows Innocent curiosity. Immediate regret. The sound of dial-up internet Not fear exactly. More like impending doom mixed with hope.

Looking back, none of this was actually dangerous.

But at the time?

Our brains said: absolutely not, we’re panicking.

And honestly?

I kind of love that about us.

Because it wasn’t weakness — it was imagination, sensitivity, pattern-spotting, and a nervous system that cared a bit too much.

So here’s to the weird fears.

The dramatic reactions.

The things we’re “still not over,” and probably never will be.

ADN Fear Files is officially back.

And yes — there will be more. 🖤✨
