Is Mario Kart Really the Most Stressful Game?

People always say Mario Kart is the most stressful game.

Too competitive.

Too chaotic.

Friendships ruined by blue shells.

But honestly? I disagree.

Mario Kart is loud stress. It’s obvious stress. You know exactly what you’re signing up for — fast races, sudden betrayal, shouting at the screen. And crucially… it ends. Three laps, results screen, done.

The Sims, on the other hand, was a completely different kind of stress.

It wasn’t fast. It wasn’t dramatic. It was constant.

Needs bars dropping.

Someone refusing to sleep.

Something always needing fixing.

The quiet pressure of keeping everything running smoothly or watching it fall apart.

Mario Kart never pretended to be relaxing.

The Sims did.

That’s the difference.

One is chaos you consent to.

The other is admin disguised as play.

Mario Kart lets you rage, laugh, and move on.

The Sims asks you to monitor a life, optimise it, and somehow feel responsible when it goes wrong.

So no — Mario Kart isn’t the most stressful game.

It’s just honest about what it is.
