n 2010, me and my best friend Sadie went to see JLS live — and honestly, we never recovered. Not because of the lights, or the staging, or the matching colour hoodies (although… iconic). But because we screamed every single lyric like our lives depended on it.
Sadie knew every word half a second before Aston even opened his mouth. I was right there with her — breathless, buzzing, completely feral — and together we created our own sort of chaotic harmony that definitely wasn’t in tune but was absolutely in spirit.
I remember the lights hitting the crowd, everyone jumping, the floor shaking under us, and the moment Beat Again kicked in. We looked at each other — that “oh my god it’s happening” look — and then we just went for it.
For that whole night, we were just two girls laughing, screaming, living in the purest pop joy imaginable.
Now, all these years later, that memory holds both sparkle and softness. It’s one of those nights that lives in my chest — loud, colourful, and full of love.
And with JLS in 15 days, I can already feel that old excitement coming back. The kind that grabs you by the heart and whispers,
“Ready to scream the lyrics again?”
💙❤️💚💛
Sadie would’ve screamed the loudest.
