🎩💻 We All Had That One Monopoly PC Game

Before The Sims took over our lives, there was that one Monopoly game on the family computer — the classic CD-ROM version that somehow felt way more dramatic than the board game ever did.

You’d roll the dice, watch the little top hat shuffle around the 3D board, and pray you didn’t land on Mayfair. Mr. Monopoly would pop up cheering when you bought a property, the trains actually moved, and that satisfying clunk noise when the money transferred? Iconic.

There was always a moment of pure panic when the screen told you, “You don’t have enough money!” — followed by mortgaging every single property just to survive another round. And then losing anyway. 😭

It was peak early-00s energy: bright graphics, tinny sound effects, and a faint sense of family-computer chaos. Bonus points if your copy came from Woolworths or a random cereal box promo.

Your turn: What other random PC games did you have back then? (I’m looking at you, Barbie Fashion Designer, Zoo Tycoon, and Freddi Fish.) 💅🎲✨
