Asten Does Nostalgia

Where nostalgia meets chaos, and Daisy won’t shut up about it

💌 From My Memory Box: Tea, Biscuits, and Grandad’s Kitchen

Before I ever knew what “self-care” meant, I learned it in the simplest way possible — at my grandparents’ table, with a mug of tea and a Rich Tea biscuit. ☕️🍪

The tea was always strong (none of that weak stuff!), the biscuits came from a tin that clanked softly when you opened it, and somehow everything felt slower. I’d dunk a biscuit, watch it soften just enough, and feel like I’d mastered the most important life skill there was.

Grandad always said, “A cuppa makes everything better.” And somehow, it really did. Whether it was a scraped knee, a bad day at school, or just a quiet afternoon, that warm mug fixed it all in its own gentle way.

No stress. No noise. Just tea, warmth, and love that didn’t need words. 💛

Daisy says: “Grandad knew the real self-care routine before it was a hashtag, babes. Step one: kettle on. Step two: dunk accordingly.” 💅☕️

Do you remember your first proper cuppa? What was your go-to dunking biscuit?
