You know those songs that make you stop mid-playlist like, “hang on, this is such a tune”? For me, that’s “Mary” — the heartbreaky deep cut from JLS’s debut album that deserved so much more love than it ever got.
It’s classic 2009 JLS: harmonies tighter than their stage outfits, Aston giving everything on the vocals, and that chorus that somehow hurts and heals you at the same time. It’s the kind of track that reminds you why we fell for them in the first place — all feeling, no filler.
If you know, you know. 💙 If you don’t, go queue it up right now and prepare for peak boyband ballad excellence. “Mary” might have been buried deep on the album, but in true fan-girl fashion, we never forgot her.
Deep cuts deserve their flowers. Especially this one.
