A little millennium-era brain tickle for the London lot.
Remember when the O2 was just this massive bubble on the Greenwich skyline? Back in 2000, it was the Millennium Dome — hyped as the coolest thing ever, full of futuristic exhibits, and the place every school trip seemed to go.
And then… nothing. For a while it was just a giant white tent that nobody really knew what to do with.
Fast forward to now: it’s one of the biggest arenas in the world — the place where we’ve screamed along to boybands, seen musicals, and eaten our weight in mozzarella sticks at Frankie & Benny’s before showtime.
But to some of us, it’ll always be “The Dome.” And what’s absolutely wild? There are fully-grown adults out there who aren’t even old enough to remember it as that. I simply refuse to accept this information 🤣
Daisy says… “Honestly babes, it looked like a giant spaceship plonked in London. Still does, tbh. Just with better sound systems now.”
Over to you: Did you ever go on a school trip to the Millennium Dome? Or is it just a landmark you point at out the train window on your way to a gig?
