Before iPhones, before app stores, before Candy Crush — there was one playground legend: Snake on the Nokia 3210.
If you were lucky enough to have a 3210 (or sneak a go on your mum’s), you know the drill:
- Guide your little pixel snake around the tiny screen
- Gobble the dots to grow longer
- Hit the wall or your own tail = game over
Simple? Yes. Addictive? Absolutely. Hours disappeared trying to beat your high score — usually while pretending to “text” under the table in maths. Those beeps, that chunky phone, the bragging rights when your snake finally filled the screen… peak 00s energy.
Sure, today we’ve got shiny graphics and online leaderboards, but nothing hits like watching blocky pixels crawl across a monochrome display and feeling like a gaming genius for getting one more dot.

“I once got to level 7 on Snake and genuinely thought I’d won life. Then I drove straight into my own tail. Classic me.”
