Asten Does Nostalgia

Where nostalgia meets chaos, and Daisy won’t shut up about it

5 Things We All Remember From Family Holidays 🌴✨

Family holidays weren’t just about where we went — they were about the little rituals, dramas, and unforgettable chaos that made them stick.

1) The Car Journey Chaos 🚗

Travel sweets melting in the glovebox, a dodgy CD on repeat, and at least three arguments about who got the window seat. “Are we there yet?” was practically the soundtrack. Bonus points if your dad insisted on “making good time.”

2) Caravan Park Adventures 🏕️

For us, it was Haven holidays on repeat. Caravans that felt like mansions, endless arcade games that ate up your pocket money, and evening entertainment with mascots you half-loved, half-feared. Plus, making “holiday friends” you swore you’d stay in touch with… but never did.

3) Theme Park Magic (and Mild Panic) 🎢

Disneyland Paris was supposed to be pure magic… and it was. But when the parade rolled through? I absolutely bolted. Too loud, too much, too close – and suddenly my family had a runaway on their hands. 😂 Core memory unlocked.

4) British Seaside Energy 🎡

If it wasn’t abroad, it was arcades, sticks of rock, and sand everywhere. You could count on at least one seagull trying to rob your chips, and a 2p machine that promised a jackpot but delivered heartbreak.

5) Poolside Abroad 🏖️

Inflatable crocodiles, waterproof cameras that barely worked, and the unspoken race to claim the best sun loungers. Somehow even the chlorine smell felt like “holiday mode.”

Golden takeaway: Family holidays were chaotic, funny, and sometimes overwhelming — and that’s exactly why they’re pure nostalgia now. 🌞
