Every episode, Neil Buchanan made it look so easy.
“All you need is a balloon, some PVA glue, and a bit of newspaper…”
Translation: chaos incoming.
The balloon trick was legendary. Blow it up, cover it in soggy newspaper strips, wait for it to dry, then POP! Instant papier-mâché head base. Except the pop was basically a jump scare. Some kids were fearless. Me? Hands over my ears, braced for disaster.
And when it did go right? You were left with a crunchy shell that smelled faintly of damp newspaper — and somehow felt like the greatest artistic achievement of your childhood.
Forget the Big Art Attacks in fields full of jeans and sand. For me, that balloon moment was the real Art Attack experience. Equal parts creativity and chaos — with a side of trauma.
🌟 Daisy’s Corner 🌟
Oh babes, papier-mâché was a SCAM. Neil’s balloon head looked like Michelangelo had a hand in it, and mine looked like it had been chewed by a dog. Also, the pop? Pure horror. Who gave us arts and crafts with built-in jump scares?! Dry toast energy, Neil. Dry. Toast. Energy.
