Two pop groups. Two sets of matching outfits. Two sets of choreography every Year 6 leavers’ disco kid thought they nailed.
S Club 7: sunshine, positivity, TV shows, and the eternal promise that “Ain’t no party like an S Club party.” They gave us Jo, Bradley, Hannah, Tina (always doing her thing).
Steps: cheesy pop perfection. The dance routines, the key changes, the pure ABBA-inspired drama. Tragedy alone could floor a dancefloor.
Choosing between them was like choosing between chips or pizza at a sleepover. Both iconic. Both sugar-fuelled chaos.
But one thing’s certain: the 90s/00s didn’t just give us songs — they gave us group identities. Were you an S Clubber or a Stepper?

“S Club vs Steps? Babes, that wasn’t just music — that was war. Playground alliances were formed over this. If you didn’t know the Tragedy dance you were basically socially dead. Meanwhile, S Club promised us a party that never stopped… except when my mum yelled ‘turn that racket down.’ Honestly, both slapped. Pop perfection, babes.”
