by Asten / Actually Asten / Reformed Sharpay Slanderer
Let’s cut the music for a second and get serious (but only for like… 0.3 seconds).
We owe Sharpay Evans a formal apology.
Back in the day, she was painted as the villain. The drama queen. The rich girl trying to ruin everything with jazz hands and sequins. But now, with the wisdom of adulthood and the power of hindsight (and TikTok analysis), it’s time we admitted the truth:
Sharpay was never the villain. She was just the only one doing her job.
🎭 She Worked HARD
While Troy and Gabriella were out frolicking in ski lodges and “accidentally” auditioning for lead roles, Sharpay was:
- Memorising lines
- Practicing every song
- Planning the entire production
- Wearing pink heels while doing all of the above
She didn’t stumble into the spotlight — she earned it. And you can’t hate a girl for having ambition and a matching folder.
💋 She Had Taste. She Had Style. She Had Goals.
Sharpay said she wanted:
- Turkey imported from Maine
- A pool and a view
- A pink convertible with her name on the plates
You know what that is? ✨A vision board.✨
She wasn’t mean. She was misunderstood — by teachers, classmates, and a system that feared glitter.
🧠 She Was the Only One Who Knew It Was a Musical
While everyone else was pretending they were living in a normal school where people randomly burst into song, Sharpay knew she was in a production and acted accordingly.
Theatrics? Present. Dramatic arm movements? Constant.
Voice projection? Perfection.
🎤 She Gave Us BOPS
Let’s take a moment to honour:
- Bop to the Top – The ultimate climb-the-ladder anthem
- Fabulous – Manifestation with a piano by the pool
- I Want It All – Pure theatre, pure drama, pure gold
No skips. Just hits.
🙃 Was She Even Wrong?
She didn’t sabotage anyone. She just… wanted to be the lead in the show she’d trained for. And when that didn’t happen? She still showed up and performed like a pro.
And let’s not forget: Ryan ditched her and SHE STILL TURNED UP WITH FULL CHOREO.
👠 Sharpay Evans Walked So…
- Elle Woods could strut
- Blair Waldorf could monologue
- Every theatre kid could dream
She was iconic. She was determined. She was fabulous.
And we’re sorry for not realising it sooner.
🌪 Daisy’s Corner: Thank You for Coming to My Ted Talk
“Sharpay raised me. I had a pink sparkly pen with her face on it. I made my brother play the Ryan parts while I recreated Bop to the Top on the trampoline. One time I made a PowerPoint called ‘Why I Deserve a Solo’ and honestly? Sharpay would’ve approved.”
